The structural, thermal, linear, and femtosecond third-order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of two pyridine-based anthracene chalcones, (2)-1-(anthracen-9-yl)-3-(pyridin-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one () and (2)-1-(anthracen-9-yl)-3-(pyridin-3-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (), were investigated.
