A reliable LC-MS/MS analytical method for the determination of residual triclabendazole and its principal metabolites (triclabendazole sulfoxide, triclabendazole sulfone and keto-triclabendazole) in bovine tissues was developed, in which triclabendazole and its metabolites are oxidized to keto-triclabendazole as a marker residue. The method involves sample digestion with hot sodium hydroxide, thus releasing the bound residues of various triclabendazole metabolites in bovine tissues. To further explore the aroma mechanism of Chinese faint-scent cigarettes, the contribution of tobacco leaf composition, including six kinds of saccharides, eight tobacco alkaloids, seventeen kinds of organic acids, eighteen kinds of amino acids and four ions (Na, K, Mg and Ca), on aroma quality characteristic (freshness, flowery and acidic notes) of faint-scent cigarettes was analyzed by chromatography and PLSR. The results showed that (i) xylose, fructose, glucose, maltose and sucrose were negatively correlated to acidic note, while galactose showed significantly positive correlation to acidic note. We developed a robust analytical method for quantification of malondialdehyde (MDA) in exhaled breath condensate (EBC) via derivatization with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH). The target MDA-DNPH hydrazone was separated by ultra-performance liquid chromatography using two reversed-phase analytical columns (C and phenyl-hexyl) inter-connected via a two-position, six-port switching valve to a single-quadrupole mass spectrometer.
