International Academy of Classical Homeopathy, University of the Aegean, Alonissos, Greece.

BACKGROUND Obesity is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally and challenging to treat because of the multifactorial etiology and presentation. Individualized homeopathy takes into account factors that led to a patient's health condition and hence may have a role in the treatment of obesity and related co-morbidities; co-morbidities that may arising from the same etiology may respond as a whole to homeopathy treatment. CASE REPORT A 39-year-old Russian female who developed multiple problems after severe emotional stress was treated with individualized classical homeopathic therapy. Read More

The physical features -size and granularity- of solid materials are strongly affected by trituration in lactose, before turning them into homeopathic solutions.

Mater Sci Eng C Mater Biol Appl 2018 Dec 20;93:305-318. Epub 2018 Jul 20.

Department of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA, GR15780 Athens, Greece.

Trituration is a mechanical process (a form of comminution) for reducing the particle size of a substance. In this manuscript, six different Raw Solid Materials (RSM) which are used in Homeopathy after successive grindings are studied before they are turned into homeopathic solutions. The impact of trituration, with the presence of α‑lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) seems to be quite great and interesting because of the variety of grain size which largely differentiate the properties of the materials. An integrated approach with homeopathic medicine and electro-acupuncture in anaesthesiology during breast cancer surgery: Case reports.

J Pharmacopuncture 2018 Jun 30;21(2):126-131. Epub 2018 Jun 30.

S.D. Anaesthesia and Intensive Care MiSC AOUP Complementary Medicine Oncology Integrated Breast Unit, University Hospital Trust ofPisa, Via Roma 67, 56126, Pisa, Italy.

This study investigates the effect of a combination of homeopathic medicine and electro-acupuncture in two patients with breast cancer and severe liver disease who could not receive standard anaesthesia therapy due to liver problems. Specifically, measurable and quantifiable parameters were used to evaluate whether an integrated approach-consisting of electro-acupuncture and a homeopathic medicine diluted above Avogadro's limit (that is, above a potency of 12CH) during the pre-surgical, surgical and post-surgical phases--can improve general well-being of a patient undergoing breast cancer surgery. In breast cancer surgery, we employed an integrated approach consisting of induction with hypnotics and muscle relaxants, followed by maintenance with anaesthetic gas, combined with a homeopathic treatment (Arnica montana 15CH and Apis mellifica 15CH) before and after surgery and an electro-acupuncture treatment performed in the pre- and post-surgical phases without any analgesic/pain relieving medications. Repositioning Individualized Homeopathy as a Psychotherapeutic Technique With Resolvable Ethical Dilemmas.

J Evid Based Integr Med 2018 Jan-Dec;23:2515690X18794379

1 Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The author puts forth the argument that the complementary and alternative medicine community should endorse specific aspects of the entire individualized homeopathic process, including its unique holistic consultation process, having dedicated lengths of time to enumerate the complete illness context, and the prescribing of homeopathic remedies, to reposition this modality as a psychotherapeutic technique. Moreover, placebo effects derived from homeopathic remedies could be used to further exploit favorable therapeutic effects that have accrued from the entirety of the homeopathic consultation process. The overall aim of this bold shift is to sustain the clinical practice of homeopathy from an ethical and clinically responsible (and plausible) framework that is properly evidence-informed.
