Comparison of MRI and US in Tumor Size Evaluation of Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy.

Objective: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasonography (US) are commonly used in the pre-surgery determination of tumor size and the follow-up of breast cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). The aim of this study was to compare the efficiency of preoperative MRI and US in tumor size evaluation of patients with breast cancer after NAC to guide clinicians on the appropriate treatment plan.

Hazelnuts and their skins are important sources of health-promoting compounds. In this study, serotonin, a neuroactive compound, and its precursor tryptophan in 14 hazelnuts, almost all hazelnut varieties in Turkey, in two consecutive harvest years were investigated. Supermacroporous gels, called cryogels, are unique scaffolds that can be prepared by polymerization of monomer solution under sub-zero temperatures. They are widely used in many applications and have significant potential biomaterials, especially for biomedical applications due to their inherent interconnected supermacroporous structures and easy formation of composite polymers in comparison to other porous polymer synthesis techniques. The reactions proceed efficiently when AgOTf is used as an anion exchange catalyst with a 20 mol % loading at 80 °C.
