Null-free False Discovery Rate Control Using Decoy Permutations.

Acta Math Appl Sin 2022 9;38(2):235-253. Epub 2022 Apr 9.

The traditional approaches to false discovery rate (FDR) control in multiple hypothesis testing are usually based on the null distribution of a test statistic. However, all types of null distributions, including the theoretical, permutation-based and empirical ones, have some inherent drawbacks. For example, the theoretical null might fail because of improper assumptions on the sample distribution. Read More

Dynamical Behavior of SEIR-SVS Epidemic Models with Nonlinear Incidence and Vaccination.

Acta Math Appl Sin 2022 9;38(2):282-303. Epub 2022 Apr 9.

For some infectious diseases such as mumps, HBV, there is evidence showing that vaccinated individuals always lose their immunity at different rates depending on the inoculation time. In this paper, we propose an age-structured epidemic model using a step function to describe the rate at which vaccinated individuals lose immunity and reduce the age-structured epidemic model to the delay differential model. For the age-structured model, we consider the positivity, boundedness, and compactness of the semiflow and study global stability of equilibria by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functionals. Global Stability of a Mumps Transmission Model with Quarantine Measure.

Acta Math Appl Sin 2021 8;37(4):665-672. Epub 2021 Oct 8.

School of Science, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing, 102616 China.

In this paper, a model of mumps transmission with quarantine measure is proposed and then the control reproduction number of the model is obtained. This model admits a unique endemic equilibrium if and only if > 1, while the disease-free equilibrium always exists. By using the technique of constructing Lyapunov functions and the generalized Lyapunov-LaSalle theorem, we first show that the equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable (GAS) if ≤ 1; second, we prove that the equilibrium is GAS if > 1. In many statistical applications, data are collected over time, and they are likely correlated. In this paper, we investigate how to incorporate the correlation information into the local linear regression. Under the assumption that the error process is an auto-regressive process, a new estimation procedure is proposed for the nonparametric regression by using local linear regression method and the profile least squares techniques.
