The high prevalence of breast cancer and the high complication rate of combined radical treatment make the issue of medical rehabilitation using physical factors in patients after surgery highly relevant and warrant the need to determine the contribution of individual factors. Objective: To compare the efficacy of general magnetic therapy and low-frequency electrostatic field on days 2-4 after the radical surgical treatment of breast cancer and 1.0-1. A promising direction of osteoarthritis (OA) therapy is currently being considered pharmaceutical compositions of Symptomatic Slow Acting Drugs for Osteoarthritis (SYSADOA), which include type II collagen. A clinical observational study was conducted. Objective: To Identify the effect of physical activity complex effects with dietary supplements Cartilox (composition: hydrolyzed type II collagen, hyaluronic acid, boswellia, curcumin, piperine) on the severity of pain syndrome in OA knee and hip joint patients, low back pain (LBP); assessment of the need for the appointment of NSAIDs against the background of taking Cartilox. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore association between hypermobility and osteoarthritis (OA) at the first carpometacarpal (CMC) joint, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to identify early change in women at high risk of developing OA but without yet established diagnoses. Methods: For this observational study, 33 women (aged 30-50 years) with self-reported maternal hand OA but without personal diagnoses of OA were recruited. Participants completed a 5-point hypermobility questionnaire. Read More

Chronic pelvic pain conditions such as interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) remain clinical and mechanistic enigmas. Microglia are resident immune cells of the central nervous system (CNS) that respond to changes in the gut microbiome, and studies have linked microglial activation to acute and chronic pain in a variety of models, including pelvic pain. We have previously reported that mice deficient for the lipase acyloxyacyl hydrolase (AOAH) develop pelvic allodynia and exhibit symptoms, comorbidities, and gut dysbiosis mimicking IC/BPS. Read More

Background: Early pre-anesthetic management for surgery is aimed at identifying risk factors, which notably in children are mostly airway related. The first COVID-19 lockdown opened a unique 'window of opportunity' to study what impact an ad-hoc management strategy would bring to bear on intraoperative respiratory events. Methods: In this observational cohort study we included all patients with an American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) Physical Status of I or II, aged 0 to ≤18 years, who underwent elective surgery at our center during the first national COVID-19 lockdown (March 15th to May 31st, 2020) and all analogue cases during the same calendar period of 2017-2019.
