Background: Pheochromocytoma is a neuroendocrine tumor that can overproduce catecholamines. Heart failure and Takotsubo Syndrome (TTS) caused by excessive catecholamines are uncommon pheochromocytoma complications.Case Presentation: A 27-year-old woman was referred to our center for further preoperative assessment and adrenalectomy. Objective: To determine the accuracy of preoperative imaging, including contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and 68Gallium-DOTATOC positron emission tomography (68Ga-DOTATOC PET), in identifying nodal metastases (N+) in sporadic nonfunctioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PanNETs).Summary Background Data: An accurate preoperative identification of N+ in NF-PanNETs is critical for surgical planning. The accuracy of different imaging techniques in detecting lymph node (LN) metastases in NF-PanNETs has been poorly investigated. Read More

Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PNEN) are tumors that originate from neuroendocrine cells. Only about 1% patients are related to mutation of tuberous sclerosis complex gene. Here, we reported a rare case with involvement of multiple organs and space-occupying lesions. Read More

Patients with neuroendocrine tumors of gastro-entero-pancreatic origin (GEP-NET) experience changes in fat and muscle composition. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) are currently used to analyze body composition. Changes thereof could indicate cancer progression or response to treatment. Read More

Background And Aims: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) result from neuroendocrine cell neoplastic proliferation, with both characteristics of endocrine and nerve cells. NENs arise in different localizations but the most common site is the gastrointestinal tract, including the pancreas. The morphology and frequency of NENs in our hospital were evaluated, as well as the correlation between lymph node status and Ki67 proliferative index. Read More
