The significant function of circRNAs in cancer was recognized in recent work, so a well-organized resource is required for characterizing the interactions between circRNAs and other functional molecules (such as microRNA and RNA-binding protein) in cancer. We previously developed cancer-specific circRNA database (CSCD), a comprehensive database for cancer-specific circRNAs, which is widely used in circRNA research. Here, we updated CSCD to CSCD2 (http://geneyun. Read More

We present a methodology for defining and optimizing a general force field for classical molecular simulations, and we describe its use to derive the Open Force Field 1.0.0 small-molecule force field, codenamed Parsley. Read More

Autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is characterized by uncontrolled renal cyst formation, and few treatment options are available. There are many parallels between ADPKD and clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC); however, few studies have addressed the mechanisms linking them. In this study, we aimed to investigate their convergences and divergences based on bioinformatics and explore the potential of compounds commonly used in cancer research to be repurposed for ADPKD. Blood transfusions are among the most common therapeutic procedures performed in hospitalized patients. This study evaluates contemporary national trends in RBC, plasma, platelet and cryoprecipitate transfusions. National Inpatient Sample (NIS), the largest all-payer inpatient database representing 94-97% of US population, was evaluated from the 4th quarter of 2015 through 2018. Read More

Little is known about whether risk classification at diagnosis predicts post-hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) outcomes for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. We evaluated 8709 AML patients from the CIBMTR database and, after selection and manual curation of cytogenetics data, 3779 patients in CR1 were included in the final analysis: 2384 with intermediate-risk, 969 with adverse-risk, and 426 with KMT2A-rearranged disease. An adjusted multivariable analysis compared to intermediate-risk patients detected an increased risk of relapse for KMT2A-rearranged and adverse-risk patients (HR 1. Read More
