The Essex-Lopresti lesion is a challenging injury both for diagnosis and management. These often tend to be missed, resulting in incapacitating pain and joint stiffness despite treatment. In rare circumstances, they may occur in association with other injuries of the forearm or elbow. Read More

Purpose: To evaluate whether ultrasonography can be used to explore the medial and lateral ligament structures during the acute phase of a closed elbow injury. Methods: A single-center, prospective study performed between December 2019 and June 2020, including patients who suffered a radial head fracture or elbow dislocation. Two radiologists did a blinded analysis using ultrasonography of visibility, injury grade, and presence of bone avulsion for the radial collateral ligament (RCL), lateral ulnar collateral ligament (LUCL), annular ligament (AL), and anterior (MCLant) and posterior bundles (MCLpost) of the medial collateral ligament. Background: To explore the changes in blood supply and structure around the optic nerve head (ONH) in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) patients with suspected dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON).Methods: TAO patients [19 with DON; 24 non-DON (NDON); 20 with equivocal DON (EDON)], and 34 control subjects were examined. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) was used to obtain peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (p-RNFL) and vessel density parameters, including the ONH whole image vessel density (ONH-wiVD) and the radial peripapillary capillary vessel density (RPC-VD) in early DON. Background And Purpose: Cross-sectional area (CSA) is the most important parameter to study peripheral nerves by high-resolution ultrasonography. The aim was to acquire normative data of CSA of the main upper and lower limb nerves in the Indian population. Methods: CSA of nerves was determined in 100 healthy volunteers at 11 predetermined sites: median and ulnar at the wrist, mid-forearm, elbow; radial (spiral groove); tibial (popliteal fossa, medial malleolus); common peroneal (CPN, fibular head) and sural (lateral malleolus). Introduction The purpose of this retrospective review was to identify risk factors associated with removal or revision following radial head arthroplasty. Methods Patients undergoing primary radial head arthroplasty between 2009 and 2015 with a minimum follow-up of 1 year were identified. Descriptive and bivariate statistics were used to analyze the characteristics of patients requiring implant removal or revision and multivariable analysis was performed to calculate hazard ratios.
