Bovine herpesvirus type 4 (BoHV‑4) is a common virus in the world that is detected in clinically ill or in apparently healthy cattle. This study provides a molecular characterization of BoHV‑4 strains from 24 cattle some showing respiratory and/or reproductive problems and some without any apparent clinical sign. This study also reported the growth properties of five BoHV‑4 field isolates. Read More

Objectives: The overarching hypothesis of the present paper is that ethnically and/or genetically diverse human populations may exhibit similarity in correlations between various aspects of human phenotypes due to the morphological integration process during the ontogenetic stages. To test this we investigated whether an association between craniofacial (CF) features and body composition (BC) variations is present in humans and the extent to which such possible associations are comparable in different populations. Furthermore, the paper examines the contribution of common genetic (additive) and shared familial environmental factors in assessing the correlation between CF and BC characteristics in humans. Objective: This study explored and analyzed the expression of YAP1 in nasal polyps and its correlation with the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).Method: 58 patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, who were hospitalized in the otorhinolaryngology department of our hospital from January 2019 to May 2020 were recruited as the study cohort and placed in a nasal-polyp group, and, at the same time, another 30 nasal septum deviation with inferior turbinate hypertrophy patients were placed in a control group. The expressions of the YAP1 gene in the nasal polyp and turbinate mucosa tissues (using the immunohistochemical method), the YAP1 mRNA, E-cadherin mRNA, and vimentin mRNA expressions (using the RT-PCR method), and the YAP1, E-cadherin, and vimentin protein expressions (using Western blot) were measured, and the correlations between YAP1 and the expressions of E-cadherin and vimentin were analyzed.
