The skin, being a barrier between the human body and the environment, is exposed to a series of exogenous chemicals and physical factors. Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is one of the most common inflammatory skin diseases that occurs in the general population with a prevalence of 20% [1]. The inflammatory condition is induced by a single or multiple exposure to chemical substances, called haptens, which activate the innate immunity (irritative contact dermatitis) or both innate and acquired immunity (allergic contact dermatitis) [2].
