Background: Although potato as a crop is commercially grown from seed tubers, plants grown from tissue culture plantlets are often used in physiological studies including freezing tolerance determination. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of the source of plants on freezing tolerance of potato plants at young developmental stages.Materials And Methods: We compared freezing tolerance and contents of soluble proteins and sugars of Solanum tuberosum plants derived from tissue culture with those derived from tubers before and after cold acclimation. species are hyperthermophilic, Gram-positive, anaerobes and the most thermophilic cellulolytic bacteria so far described. They have been engineered to convert switchgrass to ethanol without pretreatment and represent a promising platform for the production of fuels, chemicals and materials from plant biomass. Xylooligomers such as xylobiose and xylotriose that result from the breakdown of plant biomass more strongly inhibit cellulase activity than do glucose or cellobiose. Read More

Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune disorder involved in persistent synovial inflammation. Berberine is a nature-derived alkaloid compound with multiple pharmacological activities in different pathologies, including RA. Recent experimental studies have clarified several determinant cellular and molecular targets of BBR in RA, and provided novel evidence supporting the promising therapeutic potential of BBR to combat RA. Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Plant materials are used worldwide as complementary and alternative therapeutics for the treatment of various illnesses. In Ethiopia, folk medicines are utilized across a wide range of cultures and settings. Ethiopia has numerous plant species of which around 12% are endemic, making it a rich source of medicinal plants that are potentially important for human wellbeing. Read More
