Introduction

With a medical degree in Egypt, upon his M.B.B.Ch. in 1992 at Cairo University, Egypt, M.Sc. of Pediatrics in 1997 at Ain-Shams University, Egypt, M.Sc. of Pediatric Hepatology at National Liver Institute, Menofiya University, Egypt and Doctor Degree in 2007, SIRA Mostafa was nominated a permanent Associate Professor at National Liver Institute, Menofiya University, Egypt. Over the last 20 years, he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to Pediatric Immunology, Hepatology, Nutrition and Gastroenterology. With his expertise in basic research, he has described a novel molecule "syntenin-1 as" in human colostrum as an IgA class-switching factor in cord blood na?ve B lymphocytes. He described human cystatin-C as a potential HCV inhibitory molecule (JPGN, 2012; Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology, 2012). He contributed to the establishment of a stem cell laboratory for basic research and clinical applications at National Liver Institute, trained tens of postgraduate students in Egypt and Japan. He designed a poster for Molecular Signaling of HCV and Antiviral Therapy, United States copyright office (VAu-1-005-409). He had a patent for describing a novel IgA class-switching molecule (WO/2009/054321), published many SCI journal papers and book chapters, edited/reviewed for many scientific journals, a member of many scientific societies in Asia and Africa, coordinated/participated in several national projects with obtaining grants from Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF), Egypt.
