Introduction

Behavioral neurogeneticist with international reputation in the field of mouse behavioral and neural genetics. Specializing on neurogenetics of the hippocampus and behavioral phenotyping of mouse models of neurobehavioral disorders. My work experience has been in academic research in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the US, but I am interested in industrial research as well. I am available for consulting on issues related to testing, analyzing, and interpreting mouse behavior, to which I bring over 35 years of experience (see www.mousebehavior.com).

In addition to research, I have a large experience in science editing (edited Handbooks; founded and was Editor-in-Chief for 10 years of Genes, Brain and Behavior, the leading scientific journal in the field of neural and behavioral genetics; work as Associate Editor or Editorial Board member for several other high-profile scientific journals).

Besides my ongoing research, I am currently looking for new challenges and opportunities in popularizing science for a general public, preferably through radio, TV, or Internet. I am fluent in Dutch (maternal language), English, German, and French and have a large experience in public speaking. I am available for conducting interviews as interviewer or interviewee, participating in or leading discussion panels, presenting recent scientific developments, and more.
