Introduction

I am a physician/epidemiologist by training and very much enjoy teaching research methods and epidemiology of specific diseases for the undergraduate and graduate programs of USC Preventive Medicine. It is my privilege to have the opportunity to teach for living!
My major research interest is women’s health, particularly the impact of menopause-associated hormonal changes and metabolic perturbations on atherosclerosis/cardiovascular disease and other age-related chronic inflammatory diseases including fracture and cognition. I have worked on multiple grants and published over 20 research articles in major journals in this field. I also have vast interest in HIV-associated endocrine and cardiovascular complications in women and children. I have been involved with the Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) since 2003 and published over 25 major journal articles.
