Evolutionary Trace Analysis of p53 Protein: A Statistical Analysis of Conserved Amino Acids in p53 Protein

Journal of Bioinformatics and Intelligent Control

p53 is well known and widely studied protein in cancer research with detained theoretical and experimental reports on its amino acid bases which may provide several important evolutionary features of p53 protein in different organisms. Several works have been published so far to show the evolutionary relationship of the different organism using different perspective. In the present study, we highlight a comparative study of p53 amino acid bases of 47 different species using evolutionary trace analysis technique with a statistical analysis of conserved amino acid bases. Our results show the high diversity of species as the level of similarity increases. We also found that DNA binding domain is highly conserved in all organisms, whereas some domains are not, indicating the functional conservation and origin of diversity. {\bf Our study will be very useful for the understanding of functional relationship of p53 protein in different organisms.
