A/Prof Leeroy William has been a palliative medicine specialist since 2009 and is based in Melbourne.
He trained in the UK and worked in New Zealand, before settling in Australia, and is currently employed by Eastern Health and Monash Health, with an Adjunct position at Monash University.
Leeroy has an interest in cancer pain, health professional education, transitions to palliative care, communication, and individualised end-of-life care. Subsequently, he has been involved and held positions in university, state-wide and national groups involved in education, research and best clinical practice in palliative medicine.
He is currently the President-Elect of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine and is a member of the following committees: Chapter of Palliative Medicine (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) and Victorian Regional Committee (Royal Australasian College of Physicians).
He is also the Clinical Lead for Schwartz Rounds at Monash Health and manages the Facebook education page “Palliative Medicine Teaching” – a development from medical student teaching.
