Introduction

Dr. J. Francis Borgio, Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics, Chairman - Department of Epidemic Diseases Research, and former Team Representative of the Department of Genetic Research at the Institute for Research and Medical Consultations (IRMC), Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. He served as a member of IRMC Main Council. He served as Deputy Chairman and member of managing committee, International Indian School Dammam (IISD), one of the biggest schools in the world. He received his BSc from St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Microbiology from Crop Protection Research Centre, St. Xavier’s College, Manonmanium Sundaranar University, Tamil Nadu, India under the able Guidance of Dr K Sahayaraj. Borgio has completed the observership Red Blood Cells Observerships, Red Blood Cell Research Group, Institute of Veterinary Physiology, University of Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland.
Dr. J. Francis Borgio has 12 Years of Experience in the field of Molecular Biology. His Area of Expertise includes: Molecular Genetics, Hemoglobinopathies, Dental Genetics, Genetics of Autism, etc. Borgio currently engaged research in the early prenatal diagnosis of Genetics Disorders and also networks of genetic modifiers in HbF elevation and borderline HbA2 in thalassemia subjects. He is an author of a book (edited over 1000 pages), and more than 45 research papers in high impact and Q1, Q2 journals. He reviewed over 100 research articles in modern biology for various journals including Blood Reviews, Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry, RSC Advances, Clinical Genetics, Journal of Clinical Pathology, Archives of Medical Science, etc with the Reviewer Merit of 90.
He has completed 14 projects funded by KACST and DSR-IAU Saudi Arabia with the budget of : 3,47,17,500.00. He serves as Principle Investigator or Co-Investigator for 10+ small and 3 major ongoing funded projects. He received Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Research Fellowship for Lecturer at National Botanical Research Institute, CSIR, Lucknow and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India. He has International Research Collaborations with scientists from Italy, USA, The Netherlands, China, Japan, Iraq, Malaysia, UK, He has organized/participated in more than 25 conferences world over, either as a chairperson or invited speaker or as a participant. He has been a member of the editorial board for several international journals. He has been an external Ph.D examiner for various Universities, including Anna University, Chennai, India.
He is a recipient of various Fellowships, Grants and Awards like Outstanding Scientist In Molecular Genetics, The best student’s trainer in award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Scientific publishing award, Best Paper Award, University Rank, Proficiency award, Best Student award.
