Introduction

I am graduated in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine by Faculdade of Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal) and I have a Ph.D. in Immunology by University of Lübeck (Germany). My general scientific interest is to know more about the strategies applied by the pathogens to manipulate host signalling pathways and metabolism in order to enhance and/or prolong the period of infection and transmissibility. The downstream of these studies may bring to light the correlation between immunosenescence and the incapacity to constrain infections in elderly patients.
