Introduction

Dr. Arul Prakash Francis was born in Karungal, Tamil Nadu, India, in 1986. He received the B.Pharm. degree in from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, India, in 2008, and the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in Technology (Nanobiotechnology) from the Anna University, Chennai, India, in 2011 and 2015, respectively. In 2015, he joined the Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology as Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow. Since July 2019, he has been with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Pondicherry University, where he is a Dr. D.S. Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellow. His current research interests include His research work is based on targeted drug delivery of cancer drugs using synthetic polysaccharides as carrier. He has expertise in cell culture techniques, cell uptake and imaging using Fluorescence Microscopy and Flow Cytometry. He has an extensive academic background in pharma and nanotechnology combined with a strong practical work experience in basic research, especially in formulation, molecular biology, pharmacology and toxicology fields. He has published 20 research articles in international journals and also filed an Indian patent. He is a life member of Asian Polymer Association, Pharmacy council of India, Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs, India. He is also the reviewer in Journal of Drug Targeting and Journal of Materials Research.
