Introduction

1983 Scientific High School Certification with final full marks.
1988 beginning of the Fellowship within the Institute of Cardiology of Policlinico Gemelli in Rome.
1989 full marks with honours Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome presenting the thesis entitled “The Functional Assessment Criteria of Chronic Aortic Insufficiency in Bidimensional and Doppler Echocardiography”.
1989 Postgraduate School of Cardiology at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome, directed by Prof. Attilio Maseri, achieving the full marks with honours Certification in November 1993, presenting the thesis entitled “Persistent Myocardial Ischemia After Successfull Angioplasty: the role of the coronary microcirculation”.
1993, performing the national military service, activity as a military doctor within the Service of Cardiology at Marinferm Hospital in Naples.
1993 Postgraduate School of Sports Medicine at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome (Director: Prof . Paolo Zeppilli), obtaining the full marks with honours Certification in October 1997 with the thesis entitled “The Echo-Doppler Evaluation of the Proximal Aorta in Athletes with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve”.
Since January 1994 so far, full-time job as cardiologist at San Martino–IST University Hospital in Genoa. During such a period: main clinical activity at the Intensive Coronary Care Unit and non-invasive instrumental laboratories of Echocardiography and Ergometry. From 1997-2000 and 2004 so far, activity at Interventional Cardiology Unit, performing globally almost 5000 haemodynamics procedures, as first operator.
Moreover, high competence of transradial technique and achievement of experience in performing transcatheter valvular interventions.
Many training courses, including:
-BLS-D provider and trainer (2001) and the ACLS-provider (2004 and 2007) according to the American Heart Association guidelines.
-Cardiovascular Echography according to SIEC national directives (2003).
-Interventional Cardiology and a training course in transradial invasive techniques, both at the Clinical Physiology Institute-CNR Institute in Pisa (2004).
-Training courses for aortic valve transcatheter interventions by Edwards Sapien Valve (Leipzig) and Medtronic CoreValve (Lousanne) (2009)
Member of national cardiology associations (ANMCO, GISE), as well as co-founder of “Italian Radial Force”, an interventional cardiology group having scientific and divulgative purpose of invasive transradial methods.
During last years, participation as a speaker\discussant to several Scientific Congresses and Meetings of Cardiology for updating on the topic of Cardiovascular Diseases, and presented communications\posters to National Congresses of Cardiology (ANMCO), Interventional Cardiology (GISE) and Geriatrics (SIGG).
Furthermore, participation to national and international clinical trials as principal investigator or co-investigator (PATHOS, ExTRACT-TIMI25, IMPROVE-IT-TIMI40), as member of Steering Committee (MATRIX study).
