Introduction

Amitesh Paul studied physics at Calcutta University and Indore University, India. From UGC-DAE CSR India, he received a PhD in 2001. He spent his early years (2001-2004) at FZ-Jülich (with Peter Grünberg). He became responsible for the neutron reflectometer HADAS (2004-2007) at FZ-Jülich and afterwards for BioRef (2008-2011) at HZB-Berlin. In 2011, he became responsible for the multilayer group at TUM-Garching where from he obtained his habilitation certificate in 2017. ORCID: http://orcid.org/0000-0002-6202-5081
