Introduction

Dr. Adrian Preda is a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine. He has experience in adult and geriatric psychiatry. Throughout his career Dr. Preda maintained a practice combining clinical research, clinical work, teaching and administrative responsibilities. His research areas include(d) affective disorders, Alzheimer's dementia and mild cognitive impairment, and schizophrenia. His core research expertise is in psychotropic clinical trials augmented by biomarkers-based outcomes including molecular, EEG, brain imaging and neurospsych/cognitive targets. His clinical and administrative expertise includes working as an attending physician and team leader/medical director in clinical settings ranging from private to state and federal programs, including emergency, consultation liaison, adult, geriatric and dual diagnosis inpatient, partial hospital and outpatient programs. He has served as a Residency Program Director and Vice Chair of a mid size psychiatric academic department. For his teaching he was honored with the Best Faculty Teacher award, bestowed by the UC Irvine psychiatry residents to a faculty member who has made significant contributions to their training and education.
