Abbot (Abe) Clark, PhD is Regents Professor and Executive Director & Endowed Chair of the North Texas Eye Research Institute at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Ft. Worth, Texas, USA. Prior to joining UNTHSC, Abe was Vice President of Discovery Research and Head of Glaucoma Research at Alcon Laboratories, Inc. Abe has published more than 240 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, 15 book chapters and has edited two books related to his research on ocular pathobiology. Abe is an inventor of more than 75 patents. He currently is on the editorial boards of 3 ocular journals and a neurobiology journal. The major focus of his research has been on the discovery of molecular pathogenic pathways for ocular diseases, particular glaucoma, and the development of novel disease modifying therapies.
